From the Swamp, to the Stars

The video is twenty-nine minutes long, but every second is prime-time! Watch and listen to these words, spoken just fifty years ago yesterday, from a man who was hailed, much later in life, by an American author as ‘THE MAN WHO WON THE WAR’

Selected excerpts include these prophetic passages:-

We’re at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. Swap the Caliphate, Muslim extremism, Islamic State and the rest of the Muslim/Mohammed crap for Soviet Russia, and those words could have been used yesterday

Senator Fullbright has said at Stanford University that the Constitution is outmoded. He referred to the President as “our moral teacher and our leader,” and he says he is “hobbled in his task by the restrictions of power imposed on him by this antiquated document.” He must “be freed,” so that he “can do for us” what he knows “is best.” Swap Lyndon Johnson for Obama, add those pernicious Executive Orders, and those words could have been used yesterday

He’ll find that they’ve also asked for the right to imprison farmers who wouldn’t keep books as prescribed by the federal government.

The latest is the Area Redevelopment Agency.  They’ve just declared Rice County, Kansas, a depressed area. Rice County, Kansas, has two hundred oil wells, and the 14,000 people there have over 30 million dollars on deposit in personal savings in their banks. And when the government tells you you’re depressed, lie down and be depressed.

We set out to help 19 countries. We’re helping 107. We’ve spent 146 billion dollars. With that money, we bought a 2 million dollar yacht for Haile Selassie. We bought dress suits for Greek undertakers, extra wives for Kenya[n] government officials. We bought a thousand TV sets for a place where they have no electricity. In the last six years, 52 nations have bought 7 billion dollars worth of our gold, and all 52 are receiving foreign aid from this country. Judge this record with, say, our own Department for International Development , with our Billions of Pounds Sterling thrown at corrupt governments everywhere, and those words swap rather easily.

Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.

Their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender. Swap America for Great Britain, and insert the words ‘Northern Ireland’, view the smirking killers IN GOVERNMENT at Stormont, and there you will see the same words, with the same result, as those prophetic words, spoken Fifty Years ago gone yesterday!

‘its all their fault’ said he, again

I listened to the whining of Gerry McCann on the BBC this morning, and gradually had my long-held dislike of this man, along with his wife, confirmed as he continued his rant against the newspaper industry, as well as the newly-formed Independent Press Standards Organisation, because of a newspaper’s refusal to stop the printing of an article which libelled the pair over the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine. This intemperate man’s rant went on, despite the fact that the couple had won a libel action against the Sunday Times, and had been paid a total of £55,000.00.

This man, who together with his photogenic wife, campaigned and spoke for the complete censorship of the press when the Leveson Inquiry was proceeding, and is a firm supporter of the Hacked-off Campaign, which may give the reader some idea of the calibre of the man being interviewed. He whined on and on about how the Regulator was completely toothless, and how it was absolutely useless; this of course despite the interviewer’s comments that IPSO had only been formed a couple of weeks ago, and that IPSO had not been able to intervene in the McCann-Sunday times case because it had not yet been in existence.

I comment upon this interview, and this strange couple, only because of the high levels of interest in the original case. To my mind, this couple comes across as a pair of late-converted campaigners, eager to do and say anything to keep their cause in front of the public’s gaze. I cannot understand what their problem is; after all, they sought and won a Libel Case against the offending newspaper, the Sunday Times; they will receive a retraction, they say they will donate the money to charity: why all the angst and anger?

I would only comment, once more, upon this media-savvy couple, with their well-publicised books and constant stories of how much they miss their daughter. I cannot forget that, as far as can be established, they went out for dinner in a restaurant the evening of their daughter’s disappearance, and they wouldn’t even pay the few pounds required to give their three children a full-time and readily-available babysitter, so as to protect those small children from all risks.

and they, too; passed by on the other side!

Over the years since I returned, along with my wife and family to these sometimes green and pleasant lands, I have become immune to the constant nudges, shouts, demands and instructions from the Health Nazi Brigades seemingly permanently employed by various Government  departments to keep on telling  us that we are too fat, too idle, too lazy, too unhealthy; that we should, or alternatively should not, eat various substances, foods which are ‘in favour’ of the particular science, or medical, or indeed paranormal, beliefs of the moment. First we have to keep drinking red wine, because it staves off heart disease. Then a year later, another wild-eyed scientific prophet comes out with a study which ‘proves’ beyond all reasonable doubt that red wine is a killer, and thus to be avoided at all costs. Then we have the vegetarian and vegan people calling for red meat to be banned, because that is the prime push for an early death.

Now I do know, and accept, that my mate David is a vegan, but I also know that he is far too well-mannered to push his beliefs, regarding eating or anything else, on to any of the rest of us. Which is the whole point of my writing. If these people believe so fervently in the truth of their cause, why do they not simply state that they will be adopting/abjuring the particular food/drink/substance which is the subject of their cause/derision, and then ask; repeat ‘ask’ if those of us who give their research credence, to join them, and then see if the rest of the population suffers the early death they have predicted?

Readers will understand, now, the real reason for my writing today, was the sighting, in our local Tesco last Friday, of a young woman who was literally stick thin. She looked exactly the same, from her stick-like legs, through her painfully-thin lower body and torso, to her gaunt and ravaged face; as the victims who emerged from the Japanese and Nazi-German death-camps of Dachau and Changi. Now I may be many things, but daft is not one of them; so I did not move forward and intervene, as maybe a well-meaning fool would have done, with this young woman who was obviously intent on killing herself; mainly from a well-developed sense of self-preservation. I did not ask a perfect stranger if she knew how ill she actually was! Many other fellow shoppers looked askance at this walking skeleton, but none spoke to her, and so neither did I. Cowardly? Possibly, but there is the curse of modern life, in Great Britain at least. Should I have spoken out? I do not know, but, having hesitated, I remained silent.

I recall, some years ago, standing in the local butchers shop on a Saturday morning. In front was this young boy, who was finishing paying for his purchases. He carried the meat back towards the entrance, and then attempted, struggling with the load; to pick up some seven other well-laden shopping bags, as he, and he alone, was doing all the family shopping! Now the thought which passed through not only my mind, but also at least two other people behind me in the queue, was to offer a hand to get his load back to where he was headed; but, strangely, I hesitated, because just at that time was a particularly nasty case of paedophilic child abuse in the headlines: and the lady behind the counter must have read our collective minds; because she gave a very distinct negative headshake and nod to all of us in the queue. So, we all minded our own business, and this young boy struggled away down Silver Street, and away to where his no doubt strangely-uncaring family lived.

Are we our brothers’ keeper? We should be, but, somehow, the fear of being mistaken; of being regarded as something rather nasty and semi-evil, prevents us from taking action or speaking out. It is, indeed, a funny old world!

Er, what was that name again?

As of the date when the Rotherham Child Betrayal Report was first published, many millions of words have been published on this story of the complete betrayal of a generation of young, female, WHITE children who have lived, or rather existed, in towns and cities where Pakistani Muslim men, mainly from the Pashtun tribal regions of Kashmir, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have systematically raped, beaten, sexually exploited them, under cover of a self-satisfied horde of politicians, social workers and, worst of all; Police, who did absolutely nothing to rescue these girls from this hell-hole of a life. When the girls told their parents, and the parents complained, the Police told them that their daughters were just part of a bunch of white ‘slappers’, who deserved everything they got; and this was the opinion of the social bunch and the politicians as well!

It has taken one fearless woman, Professor Alexis Jay, to rip the veil, or should that be the niqab, from the slime which was the truth behind the Muslim peril which existed, and indeed still exists, just one small step away from the ever-so-righteous Muslims who parade in and out of the Rotherham, Rochdale, and Manchester mosques, as well as those in Luton and in many other towns and cities across this land which once spoke of itself as a free Country.

But we were warned that this sort of thing was happening; the gang-rapes, the fearsome brutality, the organised exploitation of White schoolgirls who had the great misfortune to be sent to a Council ‘Care Home’. We were warned ten years ago! But the problem was that, because  the person who first made those warnings was not politically acceptable; was not accepted as being trustworthy, was in fact accused of criminal behaviour for uttering that very warning, his words and his warnings were rejected and ignored.

Who was that man?

His name was Nick Griffin

In the good old days, this was what Africa was, and still is, famous for!

So how do you combat an outbreak of a virus which is virtually unstoppable?

Well, if you are in Africa:-

Three Liberian patients received ZMapp on Friday, according to Tolbert G. Nyenswah, a Liberian assistant minister of health and social welfare. The patients signed consent forms stating that they understood the risks of the untested drug, and waived liability for any adverse effects.

The doses had been flown into Liberia after appeals from President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia to President Obama and senior American officials. Its arrival last week lifted morale and “raised the hope of everybody,” Mrs. Johnson Sirleaf said. The situation, however, was volatile. On Saturday afternoon, several hundred people in an area of Monrovia known as the West Point slum broke through the gates of a former school that had been converted days earlier into a holding center for people with suspected Ebola.

Samuel Tarplah, 48, a nurse running the center, said Saturday evening that the protesters wanted to shut it down. “They told us that we don’t want an Ebola holding center in our community.” He said the intruders stole mattresses, personal protective equipment, even buckets of chlorine that had just been delivered. “They took everything.”

Yep, the very place where the ‘experts’ hoped to contain the sick and the dying was trashed and ransacked.

Modern Africa…………..Just like the old Africa!

Update comment!

‘in an area of Monrovia known as the West Point slum’ which is really difficult to distinguish from all the other slums!

some strife on the ocean wave….

I note that the BBC has finally caught up with a story which has been widely reported on both other news-sites as well as the MSM, which of course was the news that Commander Sarah West has been removed from her post as Captain of the Type 23 frigate HMS Portland because she was having sexual relations, or as the BBC coyly states, ‘an affair’ with one of her subordinate officers. Whether she was being screwed by a male junior officer, or alternatively doing whatever lesbians actually do, it amounts to the same thing, which involves a breach of the Navy’s ‘Social conduct’ code, and she has to go. The Navy also stated that she is not being dismissed, but will be reappointed to a post where her skills and experience can be used to best effect,” I give my own interpretation of what such a post might be in the following picture.

aladycook

But my point in writing in regard to this female naval officer is to highlight the sheer stupidity of confining young, healthy and sexually-active men and women together aboard a naval vessel, and then expecting that no impropriety will take place. It is sheer, unmitigated lunacy to demand that young, testosterone-fuelled men;  placed in very close proximity with young, attractive women who also are similarly-fuelled with female hormones; to constantly deny the natural urges which are brought on by the inevitable attractions of the opposite sex: and vice-versa with the women, whom, I presume, go through the same pressures as men do.

It is simply a surrender to the ever-growing pressures of politically-correct clowns who have obviously never served a day in uniform in any sector of the military, to firstly demand equality of selection and treatment when recruiting for any branch of military duty, and then to state that, under no circumstances whatsoever shall these young men and women give way to the baser sexual urges which fuel their entire systems. We are not yet in the position of the American Armed forces, where careers and even possibly lives are being placed at risk because some lesbian bitch has been advanced far beyond her capabilities because she is a lesbian, but that has happened in Uncle Sam’s Navy,, and seemingly we are fast catching up. The Royal Navy which I knew and respected is in danger of being castrated, both in terms of ships, but also, sadly, of its personnel.

and how do you say ‘Intellectually Challenged’ in one word?

I have often considered the words ‘and they have exactly the same vote as I’ to be the most offensive words I have ever written. But the previous statement must in turn be covered by its own caveat; in that most of those who are covered by that sweeping statement have not got the intellectual curiosity to be, themselves, offended.

Take one particular event, or rather non-event, in my immediate community within Durham City. The County Council produced a five-year Plan for the alleged improvement of our County, in terms of extra housing, roads, ‘green spaces’, predictions and expectations of new industry and businesses over the next five-ten years. As for the content of that plan, it produced over 3965 statements, of over 97% of which were partly or actively hostile. The level of comment or query, should have had,. in my own opinion, a response level in the tens of thousands, which goes to show how many people actually get involved in Local Government. However, this document was published to form the basis of changes which were proposed to alter the very nature of a substantial part of our once-cherished Green Belt, by building houses and roads all over it. Many other changes were proposed, and the whole plan is up for scrutiny by an Inspector. But my point in telling ATW readers about this Plan, which of course the County Council is extremely proud and protective, was also the subject of a ‘road-show’ exhibition, which was set up in community buildings and centres all over our County, and when this exhibition was set up , I wrote about it at that time on ATW, and the final paragraph went:-

The comment is the truth that we, as a community, get exactly the Local Government we deserve. An Exhibition on the Plan were held at Framwellgate Moor on the afternoon and evening of Wednesday 23rd, and the room was thronged with interested people. A similar exhibition was held at the Laurel Avenue community centre in Gilesgate on the 24th, the  following Thursday, and only two people, one of whom was myself, signed in by 7 p.m.

My first sentence, along with the caveat, should now be considered, especially in the light of this Court Case where a PCSO managed to get herself ‘airside’ at Gatwick, then told passengers ‘en route’ to their departure gates that there was a limit of £1,000 which they could take out of the country, and she would be confiscating the rest, which would be handed back upon their return. We should obviously condemn this woman PCSO, but should some level of blame not accrue to the strangely silent people who allowed themselves to be ‘conned’ out of their hard-earned holiday cash. Just imagine if some clown gets dressed up in a uniform, and tells members of the public to give away their money. What would you do, if such a statement or demand was made to you, on your way to board an aircraft?

‘Bad taste’ does not deserve the sack!

It is a strange truth about this strange nation which we have morphed into, that a young man can be sacked for speaking his mind, and telling the truth as he sees it.

A civil servant in Liverpool has been fired for using government computers to post abuse about the Hillsborough disaster on the Wikipedia website following an investigation by The Telegraph.
The Whitehall official used the government intranet to mock the 1989 tragedy in which 96 Liverpool fans died at Sheffield Wednesday’s football ground. An inquest into the deaths is being held.
The man, an administrative officer, edited the phrase “You’ll never walk alone”, the anthem of Liverpool FC, to read: “You’ll never walk again.”
The 24 year-old later added the phrase “This is a s—hole” to the Wikipedia page for Anfield and “nothing for the victims of the Heysel disaster” to a section of the site dedicated to the Liverpool ground’s Hillsborough memorial.

As with the ‘Sacred Inquiry’, as well as the ‘Holy Inquests’, the truth about what happened at that football ground will never really be established, mainly because the thousand-odd drunken Liverpool ‘fans’, and their truly disgraceful conduct of swarming the gates; which ended in the death by suffocation of their compatriots at the front of the enclosure, will be either disregarded, or passed over, and the police will be blamed for everything.

“You look underneath that UKIP facade…………..

……………………………………and you see something pretty nasty and unpleasant,”

So sayeth Tony Blair, the true voice of Labour as well as both Conservatives and the LibDums.

British people tend to speak as they find, and I, in particular, tend to speak out possibly more often and perhaps more robustly than many. I have watched many politicians on tv screens, and heard many more by radio, and I can honestly state that I have come across few more deeply unpleasant and self-serving that the man who led the British Labour Party for some thirteen years.

The old-style Labour movement, despite opposing their strategies, politics and divisive actions for most of my adult life, held a strange fascination for me.  The Labour politicians of my youth had integrity by the bucket-full, the word ‘honesty’ must have been invented to categorise the Labour believers, and; despite being diametrically opposed to the very idea of Socialism, and of course Marxism and Communism, from which most of the Labour Party gained a great deal of their core beliefs and structures, I found that they could be depended upon to follow their words with deeds, and they never disappointed the millions who followed, and believed in them, as both politicians and as men of their word.

Take a close, measured look at the crop which inherited the legacy after the sudden and unfortunate death of John Smith, a man of integrity, of honesty and of truth, and then judge them on their  words and follow their deeds. The age of the ‘spin-doctor’ arrived with their weasel words, their smooth and subtle demolitions of their opponents, both inside as well as outside, their beloved Labour Party. The by-line of the Labour Party morphed from ‘We shall serve the Nation” to ‘Things can only get better’, and if you believed that, you’d believe anything. From the dodgy double dealings of Blair’s sidekick Peter Mandelson, who sold the Hinduja Brothers their British passports for a measly half-million quid each, throught the machinations of Blair and Hain and the travesty of the Belfast Agreement; to the sordid sexual antics of ‘bluff John Prescott’, he of the Deputy Prime Minister’s title and the revolving office door and stained desk. It is true that no-one could aim any sexual innuendo at Blair, but only because his barbed-wire-lipped wife would probably have castrated him if he had ever strayed off the reservation.

His policy of nodding in tune with Bush, whilst valid in the case of a truly criminal bunch in Afghanistan, led us into the catastrophe which was Iraq, and we all know what happened there. His Defence policies, of never planning and providing the right equipment for a war undreamed by the planners, gave rise to a new industry back home in Britain, that of manufacturing and devising hi-tech artificial limbs to replace those blown off by ever-more sophisticated roadside bombs.

The strategies of leaving the migration door wide open has left us with a million-odd strong army of ‘jihadi’ volunteers, as well as the lunacies of the forerunners to the Lisbon Treaty which not only left the doors ever wider, the damn hinges rusted away, as the floods of Polish and hundreds of thousands of all varieties of African, Bandladeshi, Asian and Arabic jetsam washed up on our shores; all of whom were immediately designated ‘asylum seekers’: and we live with the garbage even today, with the recent arrival of the Roma, the Bulgars and the rest of the squalid clowns all eager to demonstrate their ability to sign on for all the welfare available! By the deliberate policies of Blair and his cohorts, the very face of Britain has been visibly altered, and we cannot do anything about it!

After he finally saw the light, and left us with that true no-hoper Gordon Brown, who held the distinction of being disliked by everybody; he swans off around the world, giving lectures and speeches to the faithful, the bankers and the odd dictator or two, and making a fortune estimated in the millions whilst doing so.

Blair labels those British people who voted  or stand for UKIP as unpleasant; but I ask you, has this slippery bastard ever looked in a mirror?

and what say the brave Black nations? Send your aid and charity cash; and your soldiers!

I note that Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan, (perhaps his mother should have chosen a Christian name less prone to fortune or chance) has cancelled a visit to the village from where all those schoolgirls were abducted some weeks ago. His security men were worried that the road to the village passes through an area largely controlled and patrolled by the Muslim bandits of Boko Haram, and they decided that they could not guarantee the safety of their leader.

Surely a further indictment of this corrupt and crime-laden country, which is possibly the wealthiest of all Africa, with oil and gas reserves totalling billions, is that the only Army it can field is so afraid of contact with a well-armed and –motivated group of terrorists that some opened fire on the commander who is ordering them to move against the Boko Haram terror fighters.

So all the so-called African leaders are heading to Paris, and will be asking the British, the French and the Americans to help in their battle against a determined and disciplined rebel force. I hold no liking for the Muslim bandits of either Africa or the blood-soaked sands of Arabia, but one thing which must be agreed of these savages is the fact that they believe in their cause; no matter how blood-soaked it becomes! The corruptions which have crippled Nigeria’s attempts to even govern itself are but typical of the mindset of the Black nations of Africa, who, once ‘freed’ by ‘Independence’ from the allegedly ‘despotic’ regimes of the Colonial West, decided to enrich themselves and their lackeys, as we have seen time and time again, from Zimbabwe to South Africa, from the Ivory Coast to Kenya, they are all at the trough, Black leaders driving in their limousines past the shacks of those who once hoped for better times; and then, when the bullets commence flying, seek the white man’s help to dig them out of the cess-pit they have helped construct after their ‘Freedom from the White Man’!

and the ‘Process’ rolls merrily onwards!

Not too many journalists’ work makes me pause, and recognise that amongst the millions of words pumped out about the so-called ‘Peace Process’, with all the blind eyes and deaf ears turned away from the truth which just plain refuses to just shut up and go away, there sometimes appears an article, a commentary which rings true; and so from Jenny McCartney:-

A 43-year-old man called Seamus Daly was charged last week in connection with the 1998 Omagh bomb, the worst single republican terrorist atrocity in Northern Ireland’s history. A massive car bomb exploded in the central shopping area of the town on a busy Saturday afternoon: bungled, inaccurate warnings from those responsible meant that civilians were placed at maximum risk. In the explosion, 29 people died, including children, teenagers and one woman who was heavily pregnant with twins.
The attack was carried out by the “Real” IRA, a dissident group in opposition to the strategy pursued at the time by the Provisional IRA. For years, the prosecution went nowhere. Finally, the families of the victims succeeded in 2009 with a landmark civil prosecution against four men linked to the Real IRA, who were ordered to pay compensation of £1.6 million. One of them was Daly, who still denies involvement.
Just a couple of days before Daly’s arrest, another republican once linked to bombing campaigns appeared in the news: Martin McGuinness, the former IRA commander and current Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland. He was attending a white-tie banquet with the Queen at Windsor Castle. The long list of atrocities against civilians committed by the Provisional IRA contains details no less searing than those of Omagh – from the 1978 La Mon bombing (in which 12 guests at a hotel dinner dance were burned to death by an IRA napalm bomb) to the 1993 Shankill bomb, which killed nine shoppers. Continue reading “and the ‘Process’ rolls merrily onwards!”

Pandemic: or the art of the Spin-Scientist.

Some time back, British Health officials were warning of the approaching ‘Flu’ Pandemic as though it was a guaranteed certainty that a repeat of the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak, which itself was a true pandemic, was about to hit Great Britain, and decimate the population. I wrote a couple of posts myself, one perhaps a touch more sarcastic than the other, as I, along with about 99.999% of the British population, was convinced that these officials knew even less than anyone else about the risks from the various strains of Bird flu, or Swine flu, or any other variation; but were talking up the advantages of being inoculated with their ever-so expensive Tamiflu drugs which they had chosen without very many trials, or viewed research, or proven statistically-correct and published trials, to back up their doom-laden words.

So it is not too surprising that the Cochrane Collaboration, a group of independent scientists backed, by the British Medical Journal, have, after years of fighting to gain access to ALL the trial data managed and generated by GlaxoSmithKline and Roche, the pharmaceutical giants, finally published their findings after scrutinising the data files. They have discovered that Tamiflu shortened a bout of Flu by about half-a-day from seven days to 6.3 days, which is, when the cost of the stored Tamiflu, noted to be some £424 millions, bought in a panic by the British Government  when the advisors went shrieking around that the ‘sky was indeed about to fall’, was interpreted by those Cochrane scientists as a sheer waste of money.

But will any government scientist, or indeed politician, accept responsibility for this financial debacle?  You must think I am joking! The graveyards themselves will open up before any of that bunch will even admit that the sun rises in the east, never mind accepting responsibility for the sheer waste of spending half-a-billion pounds on gear which not only didn’t work, the side-effects were down-right dangerous!

Abide with me; and repeat!

2008_0311floor2de0009As I write these words, I have only to glance sideways at the framed photos of my three grandsons which adorn and decorate my sideboard and mantelpiece, and to reflect upon my own, as well as my wife and my sons’, good fortune.

I have often observed that there are no new ‘news’ items, but the same ones repeated many, many, times; withg only the date and the names changing. When my mate David wrote of the incineration of aborted babies in hospital furnaces, I was busy with other ideas, but have found the time to reflect upon this strange and savage disgrace.

Apart from the natural revulsion expressed by many, these ‘burnings’ are of course against any guidance given by, amongst others, the Royal College of Nursing’s Guidance on theSensitive Disposal of all Foetal Remains; especially in view of the quotation which states, “on the potential to develop into a human being; the foetus  is entitled to respect;”, and I was reminded of the post I made here a while back on the saddest space I have ever seen.

A strange yet telling silence from just about all the political punditry is evident on this story, with the sole exception of Labour M.P.  Jim Dobbin, who expressed his disgust when he said:- “This callous disregard for young humans is the fruit of 50 years of legal abortion in the UK”. and “And it is no use pro-choice people wringing their hands about treating unborn babies as clinical waste when it is their relentless dehumanisation of unborn life that has led us to this point.”

As can be seen by the statistics for 2012, some 185,122 abortions were performed in Great Britain, ( but not of course in Northern Ireland, which sends all its butchered babies to the Mainland, as the Province has apparently moral scruples about legal murder in its hospitals, but not elsewhere) in a ghastly clinically-cleansed routine which is mirrored only by the published statistics of establshments with names such as Bergen-Belsen and Auschwitz.

Many might state that I should never equate legal abortions with even the shades of the Holocaust, but, I ask sincerely, what else did you expect? When the so-called grounds for abortion are so wide that you could drive a Caterpillar tractor straight through the middle. I have maybe written before of my own view that abortion should be the personal path of the woman involved, but the sheer laxity of the law allows virtual ‘abortion on demand’, and when a muslim Pakistani or Bangladeshi woman demands that her pregnancy be terminated because the child would be a girl, and so much less desirable than a boy within their humourless ‘culture’; the medical people cannot refuse, because if they do, they will be accused of ‘racism’ faster than a scalpel hits the ground. The same applies to the majority seeking abortion, or to use the ‘correct’ terminology, a ‘termination’; those of course being white and British. Whatever the reasons, they are all allowed, I mean; have you ever read of an abortion being refused? That folks is what the Law has become; access to an inconvenience removal service!

And you voted for these people; you knew that this would happen, and yet no-one stood against the flow, and said “Enough”, so you should be content with the resultant increase in hospital central heating fuel usage!

A measured response?

Yesterday evening, my daughter asked me what my opinions were on the huge search underway for that small boy who was reported as missing from his Scots home. I did not pause or attempt to maybe gather my thoughts together, I replied that it was a complete waste of time, the massive police presence and the search parties were deluded; as it was clear that a small boy simply could not have made his way out past two heavy doors from his home: the child was most probably dead, and the police should concentrate on the family, first and last.

I may sound cynical, in fact I probably am, but Police Scotland should never have organised or encouraged all the volunteers to join in the searches, as the probability of immediate family being involved in the death, as it turned out to be, was in the high 90%-ages.

Another tiny statistic has been written in the annals of this, the Nation which once claimed it cared, but now seems to be almost used to revealing the battered body of yet another victim of familial terror; probably brought on by drug abuse or parents who do not even deserve that title.

Mikaeel Kular is now out of reach of the person, probably his so-called mother, now in custody, possibly his father; as he is now in the ultimate ‘place of safety’; but hey, it is not all bad news, the small soft toy industry will probably see a boom in sales as silly people place ‘tokens’ all over the landscape; and the florists will be getting extra supplies in from overseas, as the ‘floral token’ industry  will also see a massive increase in sales!

A small child has been murdered, he should be laid to rest, but please, no more ribbons, or flowers, or candles, or cuddly bloody toys; please!

Forgive? You must be joking!

I listened yesterday to the widow of Alan Greaves, murdered in a truly random act of savagery just a year ago, as she told how she had forgiven the killers of her husband, as it was the Christian thing to do.

This morning, I heard two more confessions surrounding the idea of ‘forgiveness’, one woman was the mother of a daughter murdered in the July bombings in London, ands the other was the daughter of one of the Brighton bomb atrocity’s victims. One stated that she could forgive her daughter’s killer, the other stated that whilst she had not forgiven the bomber, she had actually become friends with the man who had casually slaughtered her father. This was all told, and of course received by the presenter, as just the way things should be; lions lying down with lambs etc., and all the rest of the total tosh spewed by the fraternity which populates the BBC studios, and certain parts of our political structure.

If I was ever placed in a situation where someone close to me had been the victim of a murderous attack, politically inspired or not, I would be striving to have the privilege of tearing the very heart out of the killer’s body. I would also attempt to cremate his sorry remains and scatter them to the wind, burn his home and possessions; and obliterate his very memory.

But hey, thats just me! Christian values? There wasn’t much Christianity around when Patrick Magee planted his long-delay bomb, nor when those murderous ‘British’ killers got on the train heading towards London; nor when those two men chose Alan Greaves as a target a year ago. Hang them all, and then burn their remains; and leave nothing for the followers to admire or remember!

End of the Road?

So when the ‘downtrodden black man’ gets his ‘freedom’, and the vote, and all the other trappings which were denied him during the dreadful days of ‘colonial rule’; the question must be asked: ‘What exactly does he do with it’?

Why, in Zimbabwe, first the Mugabe Government, and their ‘bully-boy war veterans’ seized many of the farms, those productive and well-managed privately-owned expanses, where the tobacco, the wheat, the sorghum, the grain and all the other crops from which  Zimbabwe was once named ‘Africa’s Breadbasket’. All these superbly-productive places were grabbed by the Zanu-PF and their ‘friends in high places’, mis-managed to the limit, because you have to know what you are doing when farming, and most of that once startlingly beautiful and rich farmland was left to rot; and worst of all, all the hundreds of thousands black farm-workers, once employed gainfully by their white employers, were left to starve.

As the Ndebele tribe under Joshua Nkomo, a one-time collaborator of Mugabe began guerrilla operations against Mugabe, the Government sent in the North Korean-trained Fifth Brigade, and they slaughtered over 20,000 civilians, just to teach them a lesson.

Then the theft and thuggery spread to the monetary system, once so well-managed, as hyper-inflation struck that once-rich country. The receipts dropped dramatically once the tobacco, wheat and maize crops disappeared, as the new black owners didn’t know how to grow things, just how to destroy and steal things.. But the Mugabe Government had to keep paying their hired thugs, so they commenced printing money; the result was there were plenty of billionaires in Zimbabwe, but they were also starving billionaires.

The dollar became the ruling currency, and a temporary sanity seemed to return to that once-peaceful country, but that didn’t last long, with an Opposition Party in Parliament; but unfortunately the Opposition Ministers seemed very, very accident-prone, with four dying in quick succession. Opposition dried up a bit, especially when the Opposition’s Prime Minister is accused of treason! More farms are appropriated, and when the farmers resort to the Law, the Mugabe Government just burns the farm buildings down. The power supplies dry up, the water doesn’t flow, and even the dead don’t get buried, because the mourners cannot afford to hire a hearse with petrol in the tank.

And the latest effort at the benign Black rule of Mugabe and his henchmen? Well it is the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act, where all companies have been told they must submit the Indigenisation Form by the 1st of January 2014. A list of over 50 categories of businesses are itemized on the Form and with each line your heart sinks. All the things that everyone has been doing to survive since farms were seized and the economy went into freefall, are on the indigenisation schedule.

So South Africa, the alleged ‘rainbow nation’ and leader of the Continent, free from the white man’s boot now for over ten years, with a murder rate up from 1000 in 1984 to 27,000 in 2010; with violent crime, rape and robbery out of control, with all the corruption they think they can get away with; has plenty of places to compare as to how to (steal) govern in their own inimitable way, once they look over the Limpopo river, and across the border.

Do you remember?

Where were you, or rather were you even alive, on the day Kennedy was shot? I was  home on leave from Merchant Navy service, seated on a bus travelling back to my home, when a mate of mine spotted me, sat down and told me of the news. It seems to me that this one question, tells us more about how the world, and the people, have altered perceptions, and changed viewpoints than any other political event in the last one hundred tears.

Imagine, if the Internet, and citizen bloggers, and 24/7 news cycles, had existed on that sunny day when John Kennedy sat down in that motorcade which slowly wound its way through downtown Dallas.

It is indeed, more likely than not that LBJ would have been seated in that limousine, as the word, and fact, of Kennedy’s many flaws would have already driven him from office; either through resignation, or impeachment. Can you even imagine of the furore which would erupt if the news cycle was able to grab and run with stories of the American President having multiple sexual liaisons whilst his wife was in the White House caring for their youngest child? Can you even contemplate the size of the headlines when the assassination attempts on Castro were uncovered? Or the plots to overthrow the South Vietnamese President? Can you imagine the blog pages when Monroe serenaded Kennedy in public? All those huge problems would have been uncovered within hours of happening, because today, no-one gets away with much, except maybe bogus asylum-seekers and killers in Britain, and of course the SinnFeinIRA murderers in Stormont.

Camelot was always a straw building, and Kennedy was not even a very good politician, never mind President. He was a reluctant convert to the civil rights movement, and just about the only thing he got right was to stand firm against Kruschev over Cuba and the missiles, and even then Kennedy benefited from the spy Oleg Penkovsky’s advice on Soviet intentions. A pity that Penkovsky was later arrested and burnt alive after being betrayed by an American KGB mole.

So where indeed were you on the day that Kennedy was shot? Does it matter if there was a conspiracy? Why did Jack Ruby gun Lee Harvey down? Who indeed was on that Grassy Knoll? Who, if indeed anyone, really cares?

Caveat Emptor

If I, whilst running a British-based company making garments for example, initiated or allowed unsafe working practices to occur, I would be guilty of offences against Health & Safety Law. Similarly, if the company I ran overloaded a factory floor-space with machinery, to the extent of some 200% of the safe working load to which that same factory floor was designed, and if a structural collapse happened, with deaths resultant from that overloading, I would be guilty of manslaughter.

However, if I ran a retail company specialising in fast-moving clothing priced at low market prices, and sourced all those clothes, dresses, coats etc. from a company in, say, Bangladesh; all my responsibilities would be made towards ensuring that I was getting the products ordered, on time and in good order; so that my shops would be stocked with clothing which my customers wished to buy.  I might wish to ensure that the clothing stocked in my shops were not produced using child labour, or manufactured during unsafe or overlong hours; but my responsibilities would be to my own company, or the shareholders if the company were publicly owned.

I would not, repeat not, have to burden myself or my company’s shareholders with either the responsibility, the cost or the vast expense of paying huge death benefits or compensation if another company, on another continent, made certain choices in overloading a factory with excess machinery, or made untruthful statements to their employees, in order to make then work in unsafe or deadly conditions; because I didn’t employ the company or the workers: I simply placed a clothing order.

start soul-searching? Bollocks!

The great debate is said to be commencing about Britain’s role in the world, and how wrong it was not to let Our Dave bomb Syria, even from a safe distance.

Allow me to place a few facts before the ATW audience, and see if you can agree with me that this isn’t the end of the world; isn’t the start of decay in our innermost souls; isn’t a sign that we are done for.

We are a trading nation, and our Armed Forces have always been committed to the protection of British interests around the world. One of the very few times when we went to war outside of those somewhat narrow confines is when we acted on Treaty obligations, and committed ourselves to a war against Hitler’s Germany; and it wasn’t until the war was nearly over did we begin to realise how lucky the world was that we did decide to fight. When the Death Camps were uncovered, when the long lists of those gassed, shot, poisoned or otherwise literally exterminated in the first tabulated Genocidal acts were seen by an angry world, Nuremberg was inevitable.

We should look and listen critically to the words of Chancellor Osborne, when he stated that, because we are a trading nation, we had a duty to intervene in a ‘civil war’; We have no trade with Syria, mainly because we have instituted sanctions against that unhappy country. The ONLY country in the immediate neighbourhood which is worthwhile signing a contract with is Israel, a democratic Nation which owes its very existence to a Britain who, despite or perhaps because of an Arab-oriented and very anti-semitic Foreign Office, finagled the Balfour Declaration into the first Jewish State. The rest of the Arabic crescent of so-called Nation-states, a ghastly rubble of despotic monarchs and ill-hidden military or religion-sodden dictatorships, aren’t worth bothering about, or risking a single British life to defend. The so-called Arab Emirates, another clutch of sandy despots, have oil, sun, sand and so-called holiday resorts; but try getting pissed just away from the main drag, or having a quick fumble with your girlfriend whilst not being married, and you will soon find out what they think of British attitudes. We are still attempting to extricate ourselves from the blood-soaked sands of Afghanistan, another dump where we may have been right to enter, but we should have got out one hell of a sight sooner that we are.

Yes, we are a trading nation, but we live in age when disputes are solved within civilized surroundings, within organizations such as the United Nations, ineffective though that rag-bag of territorial clowns might sometimes be. Our Armed forces are there to protect our people, and those we have stated that are under our protection by means of blood-ties, such as the Falklands, or even tiny Gibraltar. We have no right to state what is acceptable within a bloody civil war, partly because we did not put up much of an argument when America was dosing Laos and North Vietnam with Agent Orange, or wave our hands in horror when the F-105’s slammed their napalm down on the Vietcong and the Vietnamese alike. We didn’t say much about Georgia, when Russia came swanning in to carve out a big slice; mainly because it was none of our bloody business.

The Syrian war is a sad and bloody business, but it is their business; not ours: and we should spend very little time worrying about a truly sensible Parliamentary decision to stay the hell out of a shit-storm, especially when it ain’t our shit!

I have a dream……..

……….that one day, sometime in the dim and distant future, common sense will rear its head regarding the insane idea that a country, or an alliance of countries will make the Syrian Government back down from the use of poison gas and chemical weaponry by an attack using cruise missiles and ‘stand-off’ bombs.

  • The Syrians, led by Assad, are fighting for their existence; and are winning with the able aid of Hezbollah’s fanatics. Who, in this crazy world, believes that an attack, no matter how broad, or threatening, or damaging, or awesome, will deter one swivel-eyed bunch of ragheads from attempting to wipe out another bunch of equally-swivel-eyed ragheads?
  • A sizeable majority of the ‘Opposition’ in the field are harnessed and led by Al Quaeda affiliates. Has it occurred to the ‘bomber-boy’ buddies Obama, Cameron and Hollande that when the Tomahawks, Harpoons and Exocets begin to rain down on the airfields and radar stattions of Syria; that this will undoubtedly give heart and volition to even more ‘jihadi’ clowns to fight in the hope of killing the Alawites of Bashar Assad, and replacing them as rulers of an Islamic State along the user-friendly lines of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The Allies have, rather sensibly, refrained from supplying mobile anti-aircraft missiles to the disorganised clowns fighting Assad, as those same clowns have a rather strange affinity for attacking Western aircraft, and if you give them Stinger missiles, the next thing would be a BA 747 or an American Airlines Airbus slicing into the ground after its engines are blown off the wing!
  • The belief amongst the ‘thinking elites’ of Islington and Chipping Norton that Syria will take note of a battering from the skies is ludicrous.
  • Where is the proof that Assad’s regiments delivered the poisonous clouds which ‘killed’ hundreds? Assad’s armies are winning. Are they so stupid that they would unleash a deadly gas attack whilst the UN inspectors are seven miles away? What would be the purpose of that attack?
  • Immediately upon the first missiles rain down on Syrian soil, the way is open for an immediate counter-strike upon a very close and really jumpy neighbour, who flies a six-pointed blue star, and who is closely allied to the USA, otherwise known as ‘The Great Satan’.
  • The only winners in this war will be the suppliers of missiles, aircraft builders and hospital supply companies.

The BBC, otherwise known as ‘No right-wing views here; please!

When we read or hear something broadcast especially when it is in a  political context; from a National broadcaster such as the BBC, the ‘more alert’ amongst us have to bring into use (in computer and phone parlance) an App. In a thousandth of a second, we have to a) remember who is talking, then remember b) what they have said in the past, then we have to c) decide if their built-in left-wing and liberal bias is firing at full blast, then d) decipher the news and determine how to approach the item to determine what has actually happened. If I were such a composer, I would name this App. as ‘The Searching the Haystack Syndrome’.

I write on this well-known problem mainly because it should be both well-known and acknowledged, but somehow is not. The BBC seems to bask in the glow created during its formative years, which was reinforced by its operations during the Second World War; and the manner in which its World Service broadcast arm seems to have avoided the dreary group-think adopted by just about all of its national and local broadcast stations. I think the problem is best described by an interview between a mildly right-wing commentator and members of the BBC journalism staff. They interviewed him, and seemed (to the interviewee) to be satisfied with the recorded clip, but it was never broadcast. When asked why the clip was silenced, the communal reply was that although the man was perfectly polite and sincere, he was also quite obviously mad for holding and propagating the views he held so steadfastly!

As background to that which I am about to write, we must examine the reasons behind the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Egyptian President. For many centuries, Egypt has been a country with a Muslim tradition, but one lightly applied. Orthodox and Coptic Catholics have lived and thrived, there has been no tradition of Theocracy, or religious rule; the mullahs have had their place, but have never been allowed to interfere with how the Nation is run, as it should be. But ex-President Morsi intended to grab even more power than that handed to him through the electoral process, and once he commenced meetings with Iran’s swivel-eyed leadership, and installed former terrorists as Provincial Governors; and pushing for ever-more Islamic rule and diktat, the People, in their tens of millions, said ‘Enough is enough’. Fortunately, the military were and had been listening, organised their ranks against their old foe, and kicked him out.

When Jim Naughtie of the BBC’s Today Programme was broadcasting this morning on his travels through Cairo, and of the Egyptians whom he met and spoke with, he told of a man who approached his car and attempted to sell him a photocard featuring General Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, the leading general and author of the military take-over. Jim Naughtie did not say how he turned down the offer of the photograph, but left the listener in no doubt as to his (Naughtie’s) opinion of that courageous military soldier who had acted in Egypt’s best interests. At every opportunity, we are reminded by all the BBC’s reporters and commentators, that Morsi had been ‘elected’ and as such should have been regarded as akin to a minor god, instead of the scheming and obdurate political and religious cynic he so obviously was.

To give you further insight into the very way this influential broadcaster’s mind works, I recall he was doing a small clip with a Scotswoman who was retailing how she had trapped and despatched some small rodents. When she told him she had killed around twenty, his reply was a shocked “but thats murder!”

Behind the headlines

A child, someone’s daughter, has died. This is indeed a personal tragedy.

We are told that the ‘family are angry, angry and hurt’

We are also told that lifeguards were chatting whilst girl drowned

We are also informed that ‘a full and thorough’ investigation would be carried out.

We were not told why a FIVE-year old child was allowed to go into a swimming pool area unsupervised by her ‘devastated parents or grandparents’.

Just in the course of ‘full disclosure’!

UPDATE

In the course of full disclosure, I might add that two of my grandsons are already learning to swim, and the third is being introduced to the water. All three of my grandchildren, whenever near the water, are supervised as if they were about to disappear, and I would expect nothing less from their fathers, my two sons. Also to be disclosed is the sad truth that their Grandad cannot swim a stroke, and is terrified of the water.

London marathon…a Prophesy

East & Central London hospitals and Emergency areas across the Capital will be overwhelmed with a huge influx of some seven hundred-odd marathon runners, all brought in at ultra-high speed by Paramedics and ambulances. All the patients will be admitted with notes stating that the diagnosis is a probable heart attack; as each patient was seen to clasp his chest with his hand as they crossed over the finish line. Only one patient will actually be admitted to the hospital for treatment, as the rest were able, once they had recovered their collective breaths,. to confirm that they were just trying to comply with the proposal that each runner held his or her hands to their heart as a symbol of solidarity with the Boston marathon casualties.

Please do not misunderstand me. I, and probably millions of others around the world, are aghast at the random ferocity unleashed upon unsuspecting runners and crowds of supporters when the bombs exploded without warning in Boston. But we simply do not feel the need to express our regret collectively, publicly, or with any flourish at all. What does the proposed wearing of black ribbons achieve? Will the injured recover faster? Will the family of that small boy, itself ruptured by more horrific injury, be comforted by the fact that lots of people held their hands to their hearts as they crossed a marathon finish line? Will the fanatical Muslim jihadis, already settling down in their madrassas for an afternoon’s bomb-making class and koranic propagands session be given pause for thought because a large bunch of sweaty clowns running in a road race make a ‘gesture’?

I doubt it very, very much indeed!

Red is the new Rainbow colour

The Marikana Hoe-Down.

To the left is a kraal or camp of some sorts. The miners were driven towards there by earlier water cannons and rubber bullets. Once against the kraal fence, the Nyala armoured vehicles boxed them in with a funnel formation to the right. A vehicle laying concertina razor wire encircled them.

It is very clear from the footage available, especially the full Al Jazeera version, which was found to be the most helpful out of them all, that the police shot tear gas behind the miners and opened up with rubber bullets to drive the miners like a herd of lambs to the proverbial slaughter. The Al Jazeera reporter said that she could see how the police were boxing the miners in between razor wire and armoured vehicles and driving them like animals to their slaughter. Remember that this woman was probably never military trained, but it was so clear to her what the police was doing.

A miner then returned fire with a 9mm pistol that they probably took off a policemen they killed earlier in the week. This appears to be their only fire-arm they had.

Most of the available footage only shows the part where the miners appear to burst towards the police in what the media made look like an attack.

In fact the miners, armed with makeshift spears, were trying to escape from the teargas and the rubber bullets hitting them from behind.

When they burst through the “spout of the funnel” the police waiting for them in the skirmish line mowed them down with automatic weapons, pistols and shotguns and the media made it look like an attack on the police, when in fact it was a well coordinated cold blooded Police Turkey Shoot.

What really happened on the 16th of August 2012?

A single Rose…

…in a veritable bed of thorns.

I wonder which thoughts were upmost in the mind of Aung San Suu Kyi as she rose to address both members of the House of Commons and of the Lords’ yesterday?

Was she thinking  of the words of her speech, which of course were obviously benign both in intent and delivery, or was she thinking, as I do, to question her very position amongst the politicians and  other members of the ‘great and good’ who flocked to see this small icon of true Democracy.

Was she actually thinking, “What am I doing here in the very centre of this den of thieves, liars, prostitutes, perjurers and criminals?”

p.s. Wasn’t the music good!

Empty bedrooms; or Empty Heads?

Some time ago, I posted upon the fatuous and puerile suggestion, made by an alleged ‘Tory’ Housing Minister, Grant Shapps, that the Government was proposing that ‘the elderly’ amongst us, who live and have lived in large houses, should be ‘encouraged’ to give up their homes, which of course come with lots of empty bedroom space; so that the ‘underprivileged’ amongst us might gain access to those same large houses and all those empty bedrooms.

Notice the calls by Community Secretary Eric Pickles that ‘Granny Flats’ should be freed from Council Tax so that self-contained ‘annexes’ could be filled by elderly relatives (who are of course literally begging to move in with their reluctant families), and the then-empty houses could be either re-let to the ‘hordes’, or sold off to the newly-buoyant property market?

To my cynical mind, Labour’s Hilary Benn has got it about half right by stating that it is all Tory ‘spin’, as Granny Flats are exempt from Council Tax anyway, if the occupant is over sixty-five, but I fear that this announcement is yet another step along the winding road towards ‘Compulsory Purchase’ of large homes from single people whose only crime is that they have lived longer than their dead husband or wife!

Call themselves F****ing Tories! They all need a short dose of Mme DeFarge’s medicine, and I would volunteer my services to sharpen the blade!

The ‘Real’ Jubilee Speech from Her Majesty

To my Loyal Lords and Commons, Greetings on this day which is to celebrate my Jubilee.

I was invited to address you upon the unveiling of the window which is draped behind me, the same window which was funded by both My Houses of Parliament.

As this is indeed a special day, We thought that, instead of issuing the usual platitudes which I have been handed to read as in times past, We thought that it might be a treat for my many millions of British subjects to hear my speaking a few home truths to the people who have been entrusted with the Governing of my Kingdom.

We find that we have been betrayed by a succession of, We hesitate to use the term ‘Governments’, as the last thing which has been done in Our Name is governing. Beginning with the traitor Heath, who lied, lied and lied again to achieve his goal of membership of the European Common Market, and moving on from that tragedy. Our Sovereignty was diminished from that day, and the effects of this traitor’s actions, as the decades have proven, have proved to be truly disastrous for the British Isles and for this United Kingdom.

That succeeding Governments, of both Conservative and Labour Parties, have both continued and increased the levels of intrusive and totally-undemocratic intrusion in British affairs by the cancerous and totalitarian European Union, to such an extent that there is hardly anything left that My Government can achieve without reference to their political masters in Brussels.

It is true that a very few of the politicians who served in Government were against further involvement in the machinations of the Brussels elite, but even the best of my Prime Ministers, my good friend Baroness Margaret Thatcher did little to defend My Realm against the remorseless advance of the ‘Colleagues’ from the organisation which an acquaintance has titled the E.U.S.S.R. Perhaps she spoke truly when she stated that she had been misled over the true effects of the Single European Act, but unfortunately the Act was placed before Me, and We had to sign it, because it was a lawful piece of legislation from My Parliament.

But the most significant damage to My Realm was achieved under the governance of the traitor Blair, under whose hand and rule came forth the damaging legislation of Devolution, and now We see the results, as the demagogues have snatched the majority in Edinburgh, and are threatening the dissolution of the United Kingdom. We have also seen the lunacies perpetrated by the inclusion of a foreign Court as arbiter in our own judicial system, the slow strangling of our remaining industries under the dead hand of a Brussels bureaucracy which never, ever forgets; not forgetting the strange sights of terrorists, murderers and rapists allowed to stay in these lands because their ‘rights’ might be damaged if they were deported.

We also had to sit and watch as the same murderous scum who murdered my wonderful uncle were welcomed into the devolved Assembly of Northern Ireland, and We were forced to welcome their representatives into our own House of Commons, instead of watching happily as they were swung high from gibbets.

We, as the Constitutional Monarch, had to watch as the Labour Government altered the whole nature of many of our towns and cities with the importation of millions of foreigners under the guise of immigration rules which did nothing but dilute and destroy the very essence of what it is to be British. They have given passports to any who asked, and to many who did not deserve; but the greatest crime is the importation of a whole bloc of adherents to a religion which despises the very freedoms which We have espoused and welcomed.

Our Governments have sat and betrayed our Armed Forces, by both action and inaction. They have left our servicemen and women without protection from danger by the purchase and distribution of ineffective armoured vehicles when what was needed was available but totally ignored. The Royal Navy, once the most effective and feared in the world, has been reduced to little more than a coastal defence force, and for not a large length of coast either. Through the machinations of an overpaid clique of so-called civil servants masquerading in the Ministry of Defence, Our Air Force has been sliced almost to the bone, with aircraft worth billions sent to the scrap[yard before even being flown in anger.

We have watched in quiet horror as a succession of illiberal Laws have passed across our palace desk awaiting My signature, a signature which was written but grudgingly, and under a mute protest. We watched as a Labour Government wasted billions on computerised projects which could and would never have worked, as well as divining Laws which would reduce the freedoms evolved and enjoyed over many centuries. We also watched as this present so-called Coalition Government also took steps to reduce those same freedoms, all in the sacred name of ‘security’.

In ending this short speech, I would like to thank the caterers for the food and drinks provided for the reception which preceded this event, but regret that they are based in South-Eastern Romania. This last is of course because my Houses of Parliament have to comply with E.U. requirements that all such events be sent to tender in all member nations of the European Union. The food itself was unremarkable, but somehow I do not feel that the Romanian catering company fully understands what a ‘Cucumber sandwich’ actually represents to any Briton, in that We always wish to see the cucumbers sliced.
