Drugs, Death, and the Loony Lefties

To smoke, inhale, inject or sniff an illegal drug is, simply, an act of self-indulgence. It is also either a speedy road to a very early death, or a partial or complete onset of a serious mental illness and instability. The habit, the addiction, for that is what it is, is a curse upon the family members who have to live with the addict, with their constant cravings which can only be assuaged by a ‘fix’, obtained at a huge cost to the user’s physical and mental health, as well as to the wallets of the user’s family, because the drug of choice can only be bought at a price. As the addict is, invariably workless, the payments are made by thieving from family, or from random thefts. 

According to ‘Drug Health’ experts, Britain is facing a public health emergency as alarming figures for England and Wales show drug-related deaths have hit record levels, prompting calls for damaging cuts to treatment services to be urgently reversed. These same ‘experts claim that, instead of locking druggies up, they should be treated with tenderness, and respect, and kindness: oh, and besides all that, we should be spending lots of Taxpayer’s cash on treatment centres, ‘harm reduction’, addiction services, and, most importantly, Drug Consumption Rooms (DCRs) where illegally-obtained drugs may be used, consumed or injected under controlled circumstances (syringe exchanges etc.) Most if not all of the deaths are a direct result, according to these same experts, of the dreaded ‘Austerity Cuts’; inflicted on a Nation because, in the Government’s words, “We have got to stop spending money we do not earn”.

One expert told an expectant BBC interviewer that, because of these dreadful ‘Austerity’ cuts,  funding cuts to treatment services of 27% over three years were the cause of the latest increases. “These treatments save lives – you’re about half as likely to die if you’re in opioid substitution treatment than if you’re not – and they also save money by reducing costs for the NHS and reducing crime,” he said. What he is saying is that if the public (suckers all!) wants to do something which works, instead of ignoring all the suffering, early deaths, criminal activities: we should be funding Methadone treatments for heroin addicts without limit, and similar funding of many other truly dangerous ‘substitutes’ because it would save lives.

Another‘ expert’ stated, “Each year they have ignored us, continuing to do the same whilst people die. If the home secretary and the prime minister continue to ignore these calls then they will continue to be responsible for the deaths of thousands of people every year.”

No, dear; the politicians didn’t kill them: they died at their own hands; and they will continue to die because they are and were stupid, they died because they are and were selfish, they died because they  CRAVED THE ‘HIGH’, they died because they knew best!

 

The only trouble with this attitude; of listening to the ;Do-Gooders’, is that it would require a change in the Law, and whilst many of our MPs are happy enough to ‘go with the flow’ on many ideas, funding deadly drug use isn’t high on their agendas. In the absence of these wild and woolly ‘Treatment’ ideals; how about funding a rise in the funding for the forces of Law and Order? How about getting the Police to cast off their politically-correct Twitter and Facebook survey squads, and pursue and arrest the drug pushers, the importers; the shadowy men who keep their own hands very clean; whilst at the same time, funding the early squalid deaths of thousands of their customers?

2nd Amendment Rights and Responsibilities

Some readers may have viewed the published videos on YouTube (usually) featuring young white men carrying semi-automatic rifles around on the wide streets of cities in certain American States, all in the cause of celebrating their ‘right to bear arms’ as signified in the 2nd Amendment to the American Constitution. Many of those videos comprise the gun-owner plus one or two like-minded compatriots, but also the presence of a long-suffering but usually affable Police Officer. Instead of telling these individuals, no doubt all of whom are possessed of IQs just into double figures, to get some sense into their empty heads, stop showing off their high velocity rifles, and find something else to occupy their time: they patiently have to tell these idiots that they are, more often than not, worrying other law-abiding Americans who look askance at some clown wielding an AR-15 (or the equivalent), all in the strange cause of demonstrating that they bow down daily to that same 2nd Amendment, just because they can.

So it was in this same strange ‘cowboy’ mode, presumably to show that the 2nd Amendment protects idiots as well as the law-abiding, that a young man walked into a Walmart store in Missouri, wearing body armour, carrying a semi-automatic rifle; then proceeded to commence pushing a trolley along the aisles: AS YOU WOULD NORMALLY DO!

This of course just days after the slaughter in an El Paso, Texas, Walmart, where 22 victims died, and another 24 were injured. A lot of people dialled for the police, but before they arrived, a courageous citizen, legally armed, faced down the idiot, and restrained him until the police arrived and took the weapon-carrying moron into custody. In the immediate aftermath of the carnage in that El Paso Walmart, one policeman was heard to observe: “He’s just damn lucky not to be rolled into the morgue!’

The youngsters I wrote about in my first paragraph were obeying the law, but, it seems to me, a slightly infantile pursuit, which usually involves taking up a cop’s valuable time, while he tries to explain why it ain’t the greatest idea in the American world to state, very publicly, that you own a machine capable of killing as many people as you carry bullets. Especially in these days when the possibility, in today’s America, of coming up against a mentally-deranged clown who is provided with the gun parts ready to be built into lethality by his friend. This same friend hid the parts so the shooter’s parents would not know of the weaponry purchases; before opening fire with his modified, short barrel AR-15, complete with a one-hundred round magazine in Dayton, Ohio. He killed nine, with fourteen more injured, in a ONE-MINUTE SPREE which ended when he was hit by a barrage from police weaponry.

There are many laws pertaining to the lawful ownership and ability to carry a weapon, but there is not, as far as I can ascertain, a law which prevents idiots from endangering themselves, and others, all in the sacred cause of proving that America’s Constitution applies its protections equally to morons, clowns and possessors of an IQ just into double digits!

 

Why the Power went off Line!

Are you all sitting comfortably; kiddies? Then let me tell you about a story. A story based upon a lie, a story based upon statistics rigged by experts, a story pushed by so-called ‘experts’, a story pushed by scientists who will not tell the full truth: a story about as truthful as Little Red RidingHood.

Once upon a time, there was a whole Country which depended upon three kinds of electricity. Most of our electricity was generated by old-fashioned, massive coal-fired boilers feeding super-heated steam to huge 500-tonne spinning turbines, which in turn turned huge alternators which generated electricity; reliably, steadily and economically.

Then, a new sort of electricity generation came along, just the same electricity, but generated by Nuclear Power, whereby the heat generated by nuclear fission was sent to superheat water in massive boilers. Whereby the steam from this boiling water then turned massive turbines, which in turn produced electricity from the alternators connected to those huge spinning turbines. Nuclear-powered electricity was supposed to be dead cheap, but in fact was a bit more expensive; mainly because of all the safety precautions found to be necessary because of that deadly Nuclear fuel which heated up that water.

The third type of electricity generated came from Gas-powered turbines, developed after the discovery of NorthSea Gas. Again the turbines drove huge alternators, but also, because the turbines produced so much heat, even after the turbines ran, allowed engineers to develop steam turbines which could use that waste heat, and these steam turbines could spin more heavy alternators, producing even more electricity, which made them very profitable and popular.

And everything went very well for years and years. Until some people got hold of the silly, stupid and untruthful idea that Carbon Dioxide, the gas which was produced when burning coal, oil and gas-fired stations, was responsible for Climate Change; and was also contributing to this fanciful notion that the Earth was warming; that all the ice from the Arctic and AntArctic Oceans would melt, and drown out whole islands, and countries, and SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE!

 

But the people who were spreading this fairy story also paid some scientists to produce ‘Research’ which, naturally, would prove that the glaciers would all melt, that all the ice would melt, and everyone would be REALLY SORRY that they hadn’t been listened to; and instead of all those coal-, gas- and oil-fired power stations that had worked so well for decades, everyone should build huge WINDMILL-TURBINES attached to smaller alternators which would provide the same sort of electricity, but the electricity would be cheap because the wind turned the WINDMILLS, AND THE WIND WAS FREE,  because it was RENEWABLE.

So a lot of politicians got involved, and the people who were pushing this BIG LIE gave a lot of cash to some of those politicians, and so the politicians, who really didn’t know anything about power generation, suddenly became experts in Electricity generation, because they all said they believed the BIG Lie about Carbon Dioxide being nasty, and terrible, and life-threatening, and we would all be murdered in our beds if we didn’t get rid of all the old power stations which had worked so well, and so those same politicians, aided by people who had completed post-graduate courses in the ways of Dr. Josef Goebbels, found out that if people who spoke out against the new Religion called Climate Change could be called ‘Climate Deniers’, and lots of people believed the JosefGoebbels people: and so it came to pass that lots of Countries all believed that their world was going to drown, because all the ice was melting, and they came together in Paris, and everyone agree to give lots of money to the smaller nations because they deserved it. Now the President of America, a black man called Obama was at that Paris meeting, and he signed up to give lots of America’s money to all these other countries, despite many important people back in America disagreeing with him about the BIG LIE called Climate Change: but they couldn’t do anything, because he was the Boss.

But the story doesn’t end there, because they have these clever things called Elections in America, and out of nowhere this other man, a business man, a man who ran a huge number of hotels all over the world; he suddenly decided that he would try and persuade ordinary Americans that he could so a better job that this other President. And all (well, nearly all) the newspapers, and (nearly) all the television stations spoke out against him, because he wasn’t a politician: and they laughed about him, and joked about him, and told lies about him: right up to the fateful time when the Nation spoke, and Donald Trump became the President. But worse, at least for these Climate Change people, was to follow. Because the President had actually read the  Paris Agreement, and he first of all didn’t believe in the BIG LIE about the Climate; and he definitely didn’t like the bit where America was going to give billions of dollars away, and get, well; nothing in return. So President Trump said “Nuts to Paris”: and predictably the rest if the world, especially those who were waiting for all that lovely free money from America, shrieked in anguish.

So. anyway, back to our story! The Country which used to be dependent for electricity from coal, gas and oil and nuclear suddenly had lots and lots of windmill-turbines, all turning, but ONLY turning when the wind blew, as well as some nuclear, some gas and very few oil stations. But the politicians really didn’t understand the reality about RENEWABLE electricity, which is that when all those Wind-Turbines turned too fast, because the wind was blowing too hard;  the Alternators had to be switched off, otherwise the innards might be damaged. Unlike the average gas-, coal-, nuclear or gas-fired power station, where the turbines were spinning at 3,000 revs. per minute, and if something went wrong, those turbines would continue to spin, because of the huge momentum produced by 500-tonnes of spinning steel and copper. With such a high proportion of wind power the system inertia would have been very low, which would mean the system was much less able to adapt to any disruption. (And if that is the case then this is a renewables problem. Too many intermittent generators, not enough spinning reserve). Large baseload turbines have spinning weights in the order of 200 – 600 tons, and they turn at 3,000 rpm. Solar and wind power just can’t provide that stability.

So the Climate Change people, who have successfully ruined a perfectly good Central Generation System for purely ‘Renewable’ purposes have now to explain, again to a bunch of POLITICIANS  who don’t understand about Engineering, what has gone wrong, all in the service of the great God named CLIMATE CHANGE and the other BIG LIE called GLOBAL WARMING.

Oh, and just to end our little story, Kiddiewinkies, its not as though people were not warned. Plenty of Climate Deniers were only too ready to tell the politicians the truth; but, again:

Brexit. What they all forget!

I was still a young man when the first calls came for us to join the (as then) Common Market. The whole idea was marketed, in those days before ‘focus groups’ and ‘Social Media’ were even heard of, never mind so commonplace as today. Edward Heath took us into Europe against the firm objections of, amongst others, President De Gaulle: and he swung De Gaulle into line by throwing into the mix all Britain’s fishing waters, and at the same time lying through his false teeth about those fish to British ears. This toffee-nosed tripehound was always daft about his bloody idea of Europe, even though he knew full well the whole ‘Common Market’ idea was built upon a lie. It was always going to be a Political Union, although that idea was always denied, and hidden away until too late. 

Prime Minister Wilson gave in to the loud voices, and gave the Brits a Referendum; but the ‘Yes’ vote was almost guaranteed because the BBC, all the major newspapers, virtually all the politicians in both major parties were forever saying ‘Yes to Europe’; and a very few voices were raised in protest. One such voice was that of M.P. Peter Shore, who spoke at the Oxford Union in a debate entitled ‘That This house Would Say “Yes’ To Europe’. His speech was masterful, but his voice was  ignored, he was virtually ostracised in his attempts to go against the flow of history. But one passage in that amazing speech, which I URGE the reader to watch and comprehend, was echoed some forty-five years later, and that passage comprised three words only. He said “Fear; Fear; Fear”. He was talking about the huge problems which were virtually prophesied to fall upon Great Britain if we replied “No” to that Referendum question. 

And so the Europe bandwagon rolled ever onwards, gaining momentum, power and ever more power as it morphed from the European Coal and Steel Community, then onwards unto the  European Economic Community; and thence, with Maastricht Treaty passed in the Commons, we finally arrive at the European Union. And all of that was done without anybody asking us if we agreed. Agreed to hand over large wodges of our Sovereignty as a nation to a bunch of unelected failed politicians seated in a posh office tower in Brussels? Agreed to allow large sectors of our economy ruled, directed and regulated by the bureaucracy behind that UNELECTED bunch in Brussels? No-one told us, no-one said “By the way, we in the House of Commons, your Parliament; we have decided that Brussels knows better, whether its on the type of light bulbs we use, or how powerful your carpet sweeper is allowed to be; no-one told us that Brussels would be telling us that we would have to recycle our garbage because they, in Brussels, know better than we do!”

All the headlines, over the past four years, have been about Fear. As Peter Shore so memorably stated, “its all about Fear, Fear, Fear’, and he was right then, and he would be right now, if he was still speaking. The headlines, the Fear-mongers, The Doomsters and the Gloomsters, they all repeat the same: “if we leave; or if we crash out, we’ll be seeing the plagues of locusts”, or words of a similar warning. 

Here’s the thing, folks: We don’t care! We’ll find a way, we always have, We fought Nazi Germany, and we won. We built a bloody Empire; the biggest and best ever known! We were, are, and will be an independent Nation, and we will win through; and to hell with Brussels, the bloody EU, the goddamn Krauts, who think they rule the bloody lot, and the accursed bureaucracy of the Commission, the Court and the ‘effing Council!

Baltimore …….Rats ✓ Crime ✓Murder ✓ Racism?

President Trump Tweeted that:-

Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA……….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming’s District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.

For his trouble: the attacks, condemnation of the President, and, of course, calls of ‘Racist’ resounded through both Twittersphere and other Social Media.

So, was Trump being ‘racist’: is he a ‘Racist’: or was he being lambasted by his opponents for speaking the plain, unvarnished truth about one of America’s largest cities? Prez. Trump’s first response Tweet was to a speech from Representative Cummings, in which the Committee politician alleged that immigrant children were lying in their own faeces in Border detention facilities, despite the Border Patrol spokesman denying that this had ever taken place. So the President simply spoke up in defence of his Border Patrol force, by pointing out that if Rep. Cummings attended more to his district, and the shortcomings thereof, he might just be seen to be doing the job he is paid to do; instead of grandstanding, during a Committee hearing, about something he has READ about, rather than seeing for himself.

Was President Trump speaking, or rather ‘Tweeting’, the truth in his descriptions of Baltimore?

Let’s examine that city, from publications, reports news and current affairs programmes, but, primarily by homicide and drug statistics.

• • In less than 13 years in 70 percent black Baltimore, blacks have murdered nearly 3,000 other black people in the crumbling ruins of a city white people long ago built, only to abandon when black crime became an intolerable proposition when considering the raising of white children.
  • The statistics regarding drug overdose rates in Baltimore are truly frightening, Heroin overdose numbers went, over a ten-year period, from 200 to 850: whilst fentanyl overdose fatalities rocketed from 27 in 2007, to 1888 in 2017.
  • In 73% Black Baltimore, during the “unrest’ in Baltimore in relation to the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody, the Orioles and the White Sox played Wednesday’s game in a stadium closed to the public. Except for two scouts sitting behind home plate and a press box full of reporters, Camden Yards was an empty expanse of green. The Black-run City of Baltimore’s Administration and Police stated that they could not guarantee the safety of the fans.
  • As Rush Limbaugh noted:- 
  • That’s right, my friends.  Baltimore is going to pay tribute to gangs and community organizers and freelance thugs today.  The Baltimore Orioles will play at Camden Yards without fans because it’s too dangerous. You know how much economic impact a baseball game, a baseball season has in Baltimore that’s being shut down today?  It’s incredible, the economic impact of a home game for the Baltimore Orioles, and it’s just gonna be wiped out.
  • Because they don’t have the courage to let fans in, because they don’t think they can control the riffraff.  This is unprecedented. According to John Thorn, the official historian for Major League Baseball, this will be a first.  There has never been a game played before an empty stadium. The previous low record for attendance happened on September 28, 1882, for a game in Worcester, Massachusetts.  The lowest attended game was then, and 1882 is back in the days of the founding of the game.Less than
  • 40 years after a city like Baltimore went from majority white to majority black, the level of civilisation found in cities has receded to the African mean. And we quickly learn the infrastructure whites long ago built cannot be maintained. Because paying your water bill is apparently just something white people do…
  • In April of this year, the  Baltimore Sun’s editorial board published another op-ed titled “Baltimore’s perpetual trash problem.” Among other issues, the article detailed some of the problems that stemmed from ubiquitous piles of trash — increased rodent infestations among them.
  • Yet, here we are again in a mess of a city. Food containers, balled up clothes, paper, banana peels, plastic bags and tons of other pieces of litter line the shoulders of roads, pile up in alleys and are strewn across fields and yards. Not only is it unsightly and contributes to a rodent problem, but it can create a glum and gloomy feel in a time when the city is already facing self-esteem issues because of high crime and the scandal surrounding the University Maryland Medical System and Mayor Catherine Pugh, who’s now on an indefinite leave, and her Healthy Holly books.

 

 

 

 

 

• In September 2018, another Baltimore Sun article quoted then-Mayor Catherine Pugh as saying that the problem was so extensive that “you can  smell the rats.”
• That’s the same Mayor Pugh who is now on ‘long-time leave’. Her problems started with Healthy Holly, a children’s book about a young black girl who promotes self-improvement. Holly is the ideal kid: She exercises regularly and eats her veggie and fruits. She’s the main character of three books by Pugh: Healthy Holly: Exercising is Fun!, Healthy Holly: Fruits Come In Colors Like The Rainbow, and Healthy Holly: A Healthy Start for Herbie. After more than six weeks of controversy over possible corruption, Pugh’s lawyer announced her resignation at a press conference, which the now-former mayor did not attend. During it, her lawyer read a statement from Pugh in which she apologised for the harm she had caused. Ex-Mayor Pugh rolled up about $800,000 for those books. Super marketing!

“Baltimore deserves a mayor who can move our great city forward,” she wrote in the statement as she resigned!

So, in amongst all the criminality, the murders, the drug lethality, and the graft and corruption seemingly endemic in Baltimore, where is the evidence that President Trump was being a ‘Racist’ by pointing out the Representative Cummings should concentrate on doing his job?

From this commentator’s viewpoint, not a lot!

Boeing 737-MAX Unsafe at any altitude.

As I listened to the multi-millionaire Michael O’Leary berating just about everybody, as he foretold of deep cuts to services, job losses amongst Ryanair crew; and also a slight cut in his own personal wealth: I smiled. It was a smile reflecting my own sense of ‘Schadenfreude’, mainly because I don’t like the man, his attitude towards Ryanair passengers; about whom it is alleged that he coined the phrase ‘Self-Loading Cargo’, and his airline’s attitude towards those who have complained. But Michael O’Leary’s  problems are not all of his own making, mainly because he’s been caught up in the ongoing saga surrounding the grounding of all Boeing 737-MAX after the two fatal crashes.

Anyone who watched the BBC Panorama’s shot across Boeing’s bows would, like me, have little time for the self-serving statements of that mealy-mouthed Chief Executive, who earns a mind-boggling $23.4 millions last year. The major problem with, and seemingly the ONLY cause for both jet crashes, stems from a need to alter the operation of the aircraft, and this alteration being controlled by the addition of computer software, controlled from ONE outside sensor. This software, needed because Boeing had installed much bigger engines onto virtually the same airframe pattern. This engine addition can make the plane tilt upwards, so to remove this flaw, Boeing installed ONE sensor on to the outside of the jet’s fuselage, and, as I previously stated, fed the sensor’s output on to a software system named M-Cas (The M stands for manoeuvre ability). So if the sensor detected that the jet was tilted too far upwards, then the horizontal tailplane elevator AUTOMATICALLY forced the jet downwards until the optimum angle was achieved, and then the tailplane returned to normal. So far, so stupid.

But then Boeing, who is allowed by the Federal Aviation Authority to virtually self-certify their aircraft for flight status, made several mistakes, all at the same time. They DEPENDED upon the satisfactory operation of ONE sensor to perform a major in-flight corrective manoeuvre, instead of two sensors with one as a back-up: they DID NOT INCLUDE ANY INFORMATION about the M-Cas system in the pilot’s manual, including how to switch the garbage off; and they did not include any details in the pilots’ training about M-Cas. The cross-over training programme from the old 737 to the 737-MAX was fifty minutes presented on an iPad, and M-Cas is never even mentioned! Boeing’s software engineers then made the catastrophic decision to allow the M-Cas control system to be re-energised every few seconds, so that if the jet’s control surfaces had been set back to achieve level flight, if the damn sensor was still reading ‘incorrectly’, the tailplane elevator would AUTOMATICALLY force the jet’s nose down once more.

On the financial side of things Boeing, they increased the dividend by 20%, all the senior people got big bonuses; but not once was the fatal flaw in the jet’s control surfaces even considered so important as to issue an immediate NOTAM, they did not ground the fleet because that might have damaged the profitability of their best-selling jet: THEY DID SWEET F**K ALL! The CEO, Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg’ would not even discuss the two crashes. In the second of the two crashed jets, 137 people died, and still Boeing, despite knowing of the fatal flaw with ONE sensor; still did SWEET F**K ALL.

371 of the 737-MAX jet fleet are grounded, and the costs from airlines who cannot fly their passengers are steadily building up. Boeing states that the crashes resulted from a ‘series or chain of events’, and will not accept that responsibility for over three hundred dead passengers and crew lies with  their soiled, money-grubbing and greedy attitudes.
